I like that everybody has their own room which I appreciate. The staff was very helpful, very warm, very loving, and very attentive. I used to know somebody that was here before, so that's why I know about this facility. I appreciate the cleanliness of that facility.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services does their best to provide a fair assessment of every Nursing Home, but please note these ratings are a snapshot in time. Citymeals on Wheels provides home-delivered meals to seniors in Queens who are unable to shop for and prepare meals themselves. Each meal meets a third of seniors’ daily nutritional needs and includes an entrée, a slice of whole wheat bread, a single-serve container of fat-free milk and a no-sugar-added dessert. Meals that meet special dietary requirements, including kosher meals, may be available upon request. They care about the patients even though some don’t but I understand that they are practically overwhelmed yet they do their jobs perfectly.

They seemed incredibly friendly and professional at all times, and made an effort to thank my volunteer group and wish us well each time we came and again when we left. All of the elderly seemed rather happy and content, well-groomed, and engaged during this time. In fact, I rarely heard a resident complain about anything; many seemed very pleased with the services being provided and were especially happy to be so regularly visited by high school students . Overall, if I had to help make the decision to put an elderly loved one in a nursing home, I would not hesitate to choose Hillside Manor based on my experiences as a visitor.
